The financial industry and activities started to engage in risky profit making deals long before the 2008 financial crisis through securitization and financialization. The dominance of financial industry in the U.S. economy from 1975, and it is related to business cycle and other cycles of corporate financial events. Furthermore, political and business connections and networks are one major part of conducting businesses. Based on the historical development of Anglo-American capitalism, we propose the direction of new research and policy recommendations.
